36 HOURS IN BOLTON
(2023)
A university assignment in which we worked in pairs to create two 45-second segments of a larger video inspired by the New York Times '36 hours' series. I worked with Ranjani Tavargeri on both the 'do' segments.

I directed and conducted the interviews for the 'Ye Olde Man and Scythe' segment.
I operated the camera and equipment for the 'Octagon' segment.

SAFE AS HOUSES: JENNY'S STORY
SHORT DOCUMENTARY
(2022)
For my undergraduate honours project, I researched and produced an intimate twenty-minute documentary reflecting on the impact of the all-too-common armed robberies in South Africa with first-hand testimony of those who experienced it. My intention with this piece was to improve my research skills and gain experience creating sympathetic interview/discussion-based media.

This piece helped me to discover a passion for factual storytelling and was a key factor in my decision to pursue visual journalism. At the time of writing, I hope to explore similar themes of trauma and mental health in my future work.
